Hello to all (now) Old Friends

Just a quick hello to any/all folks I may have known or had the pleasure of working with back in the good ol' Altec 70's.

I first started working at Altec in 1970 as assembler.....

Wes, I'm not sure many will remember the little air conditioned room in the back building, if any. Many of the great folks here were out in the field, and most of the other affiliations are from the Oklahoma City facility, mainly after you tenure. I, however, was in Anaheim from 1968 to 1981 (with the exception of my field trip to Viet Nam in 1970 to 1971). So, that would include your intire time there.
I remember you, and Richard, and all the other names you mention, with the exception of Claude. Also, the only Rojas I recall was that crazy guy, Ralph, in the seperated carton warehouse in the back corner of the rear parking lot.

Great to have another former Altec employee here on this forum (I never worked for Altec, but we have several members here like Dave Sauro, who did).:welcome: I would just like to chime in that this board is for ALL things Altec (not just a "tech board")--and there are many here who I'm sure would love to hear about the old Anaheim plant--any stories/photos you guys may have about Altec back in the 70's. The valuable contributions we've gotten here from those folks are immense--I have the ultimate respect for those who kept the Altec "torch" alive at the Oklahoma City facility and of course for those who "were out in the field" as well. The fact that we don't have many (maybe a grand total of two now--counting you two guys--Dave and Wes--or possibly more?) people who worked for Altec in the 70's in Anaheim here on this board makes any info you guys can share about those days very valuable. After all, Altec continued to make great strides during that period with (for example) the introduction of: the "re-tooled" Valencia (846B), tangerine phase plug, N1201-8A Crossover, Model 19, Model 14 to name just a very few. As a current owner of Model 19's and Model 14's, I (and many others here I'm sure) would love to hear more about Altec in the 70's. ANY insights, photos, recollections, stories, etc. you two guys may have would be "pure gold". For example, was there a "buzz" around the Anaheim plant when the tangerine phase plug was invented, or when the Model 19 or Model 14 were first introduced (or when Altec won the Design and Engineering Excellence Award from EIA for the Model 19 and later for the Model 14)? Or was it just another day at work (I'm sure the perspective of people who were actually there is of course a lot different than what someone who is a huge fan of Altec would imagine). These are probably lame questions but any light you guys could shed on what was a very important time in Altec's history (an era which it would be great to finally have some first hand insight/info about) would be invaluable. Any funny stories, recollections of what that facility was like both physically (layout etc.) and as far as the people/mood/tone of the place would be amazing. This is info that is in very short supply.... Any little trivial memories or memories of bigger events etc. would be "pure gold". You get the idea--it would be great to hear ANYTHING about the Anaheim plant/Altec in the 70's and to see any photos you guys might have.........
